Sun Dial

It used to tilt its axis for every hemisphere

So when it went to track the sun

It didn’t know the stratosphere

It thought the gnomon might be done

But all it had was here

So sorry to the shadow

Only waited for the glow

Because it only chose the shine

The dial never realigned

It all came with civil time

It is more than a metal cast

Just had to redirect

The plate not fragile but made to last

A dial is its worth, not derelict

Or something else to correct

Its thankful for the shadows

And its thankful for the glow

The plate did more than track the shine

The sundial was in align

All it took was a bit of time
